Last week the Chamber hosted the first of what will be ongoing meetings between City Stakeholders and the Community Gardai in Limerick city. Last year the Chamber partnered with the Gardai at Henry Street and held an open information afternoon in the Savoy Hotel… indeed since then we meet regularly with Sgt. Kevin Balfe. However we felt it was imperative that a structured forum be created where city stakeholders could, on an ongoing basis, discuss matters arising with the Gardai. So chaired by Limerick Chamber Director and GM of Brown Thomas, Liam Dwane, the Chamber has formed a City Centre Policing sub-committee. Representatives from various zones across the city will liaise with businesses in their areas and feed information back to the Gardai via the forum on what will initially be a monthly basis. If you are a city centre stakeholder then please click here to locate your nearest representative and click here to find out who your local Community Garda is.

This policing sub-committee group is part of a larger framework the Chamber is working on in relation to City Centre issues. If you wish to get involved please contact us. It is imperative that a strong, unified voice is expressed on behalf of Limerick City Centre and the Chamber is more than willing to lead and faciliate groups…
