Another 1st for Limerick. LIT and Limerick Chamber now have the National Franchise Centre up and running. The Centre runs a recurring 6-month intensive enterprise development Franchise Acceleration Start-up Training (FAST) programme targeted at individuals who want to set up their own business using the business format franchise model.  Thirty budding entrepreneurs started the first programme on the 17th January.

As part of this programme, the National Franchise Centre will have a guest speaker each week addressing the candidates on the programme.   The first guest speaker event is this Thursday, 3rd February at 11.00am in the Strand Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick with guest speaker is David Killeen. The event is free of charge to Limerick Chamber members.

David Killeen is chairman of the Irish Franchise Association, and is managing partner of Killeen & Associates, franchise specialists.  As General Manager, Retail Brands Division of Vantage Wholesale, David was instrumental in launching the Costcutter retail brand in Ireland.  Subsequently as franchise development manger with Statoil he developed the first business format franchise in the convenience store sector under the Fareplay retail brand. While at Statoil David was mentored and coached through best practice franchise principles by international franchise experts from America and shares that expertise, knowledge and his own practical experience through his franchise consultancy practice. This is an ideal opportunity for businesses in Limerick to hear about David’s experience and expertise.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hear at first hand the “good, the bad and the ugly” from David’s extensive experience. If you would like to hear David speak, contact Martina Mc Grath at Limerick Chamber by Wednesday, 2nd February at 13.00 by emailing or telephoning Martina on 061-217600.
